Place was brill 10 years ago when there was a good crowd of people (no neds like nowadays). Plus Hughes ran it into the ground and let everyone that had been barred back in - the result: a crowd of neds out their faces. Shame - guest, glasgow - May 16, 2008

Same people same seats same songs, groundhog day in The Masonic Arms Lounge every weekend. The clientelle had the night of thier lives [at the masonic] circa mid-1990's and have been unsuccessfully trying to relive that high ever since, shameful really given that Glasgow city centre and all that has to offer is only 9 miles away. The new decor certainly has taken "the red necks in a barn" appearance away from the place, but it can't hide the fact that at weekends, the Masonic Lounge is little more than a haven for the unimaginative. As for the bar its an old skool type place with a reliable Monday Club, and a diverse mix of punter [from down trodden alcoholics, all the way through to millionaire alcoholics] making it a great bar for a spot of boozing when you should be at school.
