The Old Castle Tavern has existed at the end of North Street for some 400 years - almost as old as the Cathedral itself. Traditional and modern in a perfect combination

| A traditional Scottish pub that has been on site for 400 years! Food is only toasties and snacks but that isn't an issue in a town of some 20 restaurants. It's a chilled out pleasant drinking den during the day and a lively fun place of an evening. Paul, the boss, is a fantastic bagpiper and lively host - the bar crowd are great crack too. Tourists, locals, caddies, golfers and students, (yes that famous one comes in now and again), mix happily and enjoy a great atmosphere - Paul Gardner, Scotland - Feb 27, 2005 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 |
