Glenallan is an elegant Victorian house, retaining a wealth of original character but with all modern comforts. We offer a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with attention to detail and luxury, suitable for leisure and business guests alike. Situated approximately a mile from the heart of Edinburgh, Glenallan is an ideal base for exploring not only the historic and vibrant city centre but also the surrounding countryside and other attractions.

We have 7 letting rooms consisting of 3 family rooms, 2 twin rooms and 2 double rooms. All rooms have TV/ DVD, with tea and coffee making facilities. Hairdryers, iron and board on request. Available are 4 en suite rooms, 1 with private bathroom, and 2 with a shared bathroom between them. Groups are welcome, as well as children over 8 years. Open all year, our policy includes a 24 hour check-in throughout the year with luggage storage available. For the comfort of all our guests Glenallan is completely non-smoking.

There is a garden and a private car park for the exclusive use of our guests. A regular bus service leaves from outside Glenallan and takes just a few minutes to Princes Street and The Royal Mile.

A continental breakfast is available. We can arrange a free courtesy pickup from the rail or bus station on your arrival. Arrangements can also be made for an airport transfer. Please advise us prior to travelling. We also arrange day tours to the Loch Ness and Loch Lomond in the famous Scottish Highlands. These tours run literally throughout the year.

Children younger than 8 may be allowed in certain circumstances, but the guest will need to inform Glenallan before making the booking. This is important so that we can make available any travel costs etc which may be required.

From the airport there is bus service into the city centre, and once in the city centre you can ring us for a courtesy pickup to Glenallan.

Also from the rail or bus station there is a regular bus service to just outside Glenallan, this takes a few minutes. If you are coming in by car then you need to take the North bridges turning from the main Princes Street, travelling downhill approximately 5 minutes and turn right into Brights Crescent. We are at the end of that street.
Glenallan has a cancellation policy as follows:

72 hour cancellatiion notice is required otherwise the full price of the stay becomes payable.

If there is no show - you fail to keep the booking - the full price of the stay charges are payable.

No refund is available for early departure, after initial check-in, in any circumstances.

All card payments will incurr a 4.9% surcharge.

No pets allowed

Free pickup from rail or bus station when you arive into Edinburgh is available only with prior arrangement, preferably as soon after making the accommodation booking.

a minimum stay of two nights at all weekends throughout the year, if arriving on a friday or saturday.
