| Auld Reekie Guest House offers a friendly atmosphere and a charming period ambience. It is a four-star guest house set in a beautiful leafy neighbourhood of Victorian town houses within easy reach of all of Edinburgh's attractions. The bedrooms in Auld Reekie Guest House are light and airy and have been recently decorated, while still retaining many of their period features. All bedrooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, televisions, hairdryers and hospitality trays with views over the gardens and Arthur's Sear. All the rooms in Auld Reekie Guest House are non smoking. Free Wi-Fi is available. For guests with reduced mobility, there is a double room on the ground floor. However, there is one step at the building's entrance. If you have difficulty with stairs please ask about this after booking Breakfast at Auld Reekie Guest House is a real hearty Scottish Breakfast. | Breakfast Included Luggage Storage Free Carpark | By Air: Arriving at Edinburgh International Airport you can get to Auld Reekie by taxi or by bus. The taxi fare will depend on the traffic and the time of day but should be about £20. There are several buses leaving from outside the arrival terminal at the airport which will take you to the centre of Edinburgh. You need to get off at Waverley Bridge which should be a £3 - £4 fare. When you get off at Waverley Bridge walk back a short distance to Princes Street and take a 3, 3a, 31, 29, 37 or 47 bus from in front of a department store to Mayfield Gardens, get off one stop after The Minto Hotel, cross over the main road and walk a few yards to our front door. The bus fare is £1.30 one way or you can obtain a £3.20 day pass. (Exact money is required on the Lothian Region Bus). For late arrivals the last bus from the station leaves at 11.30 p.m. By Rail: Take the train to Waverley Station. From here take a taxi to Auld Reekie. The fare will be approximately £8. Alternatively walk up the ramp from the station to Waverley Bridge, and turn right at the top and walk back two hundred yards to Princes Street. A department store will be facing you and from there take a 3, 3a, 31, 29, 37 or 47 bus to Mayfield Gardens, get off one stop after The Minto Hotel, cross over the main road and walk a few yards to our front door. From there take the A701 towards the city centre. This will bring you past our front door shortly after the road name changes to Mayfield Gardens. The house is on the left. Parking is unrestricted in the area. There are two places for guests in front of the house and further free on street parking is available. Late Arrivals: Rooms are held until 6pm. Your room will be held later for you if you have prepaid by credit card or if you call us on the day of travel to advise us of your late arrival.
