A unique boutique house hostel run by two artists and a musician. An Art Gallery is in progress and a music room with stage and mics and amp for open mic sessions. We are a Family Run Hostel and welcome family bookings. OUR LOCATION IS THE COSMIPOLITAN CITY CENTRE & LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION IS WHAT WE ARE ABOUT!! FREE TEA AND COFFEE, FREE DESTOP COMPUTER, FREE HI SPEED WIFI AT ALL TIMES, FREE LOCKERS IN THE ROOMS. SMALL BOUTIQUE HOSTEL IN A HISTORICAL 200 YEAR OLD STUNNING HOUSE…. We offer free high speed wireless internet! And washing machine facilities and towel hire . The Art House is a large Georgian Townhouse in a very artistic neighbourhood of Edinburgh. We are close to Edinburgh's two art house cinemas, the best theatres and only 10 minutes walk from the Castle. We have a cinema and the house is really spectacular!! More privacy than other hostels as we only accommodate maximum of 20 guests. There are 4 Double Beds for Couples and families in all of the rooms. We are a family focused hostel and guarantee everyone a goodnights sleep and cleaniness is very important to us. On arrival: A £10 returnable key deposit to be paid and balance paid in full. Please leave shoes on front Shoe Rack as no shoes in the Art House. Any child under the age of 18 must stay in a family room. There is a no smoking policy anywhere in Art House, however there is a bench and a wee bucket at the front of the house where you can have a puff. We shall do our best to place you in your room of choice. However, we reserve the right of flexibility to be sensitive to issues of gender. Check In Time is after 13.00hrs and Check Out Time Is for 10.30am. Thank you for your cooperation, the Art House. Once you get to Tollcross, just ask people to direct you to the King's Theatre. As you stand at the King's Theatre front door, Gilmore Place is the street directly opposite you and The Art House Hostel is about 100 meters along the street. Just look for the house with a front garden and blue lights in the window. (Please note that there are two number 20's on the street! it's not the first one which is a shop at Lochrin Buildings. The Art House Hostel is further along with a red door.) Bus Lothian Bus number 10, 11, 15, 16, 23, 27, 35, 45 all stop at Tollcross. Single ticket £1.20. £3 day ticket - good value to get around the city all day. Taxi Ask the driver to take you to 20 Gilmore Place, Tollcross. Look for the house with a front garden and Christmas lights in the window. Cost around £5 from Princes Street or Waverley Rail Station; around £18 from Edinburgh Airport. From St Andrews Square Coach Station [Taxi] : Cost around £5. Journey time around 5 minutes. [Bus] : Cost £1.20 single. £3 day ticket. Journey time around 10 minutes. As you come out of the coach station, walk down North St Andrew Street to York Place and look for the west-bound bus stop for 10, 11, 15, 16 which will take you to Tollcross. From Waverley Rail Station [Taxi] : Cost around £5. Journey time around 5 minutes. [Bus] : Cost £1.20 single. £3 day ticket. Journey time around 10 minutes. As you come out of Waverley Rail Station, walk up to Princes Street and on this side of the street look for the west-bound bus stop for 10, 11, 15, 16. From Edinburgh Airport [Taxi] : Cost around £18. Journey time around 20 minutes. [Airlink 100 Bus] : Cost £3.50 single, £6 Return. Journey time 30 min. Frequency: every 10 min. Ask the driver to let you off at Princes Street where you can then either walk (15 minutes) or take a Bus 10, 11, 15, 16, 23, 27 to Tollcross (5 minutes). [Bus 35] : Cost £1.20 single. £3 day ticket. Journey time 50 minutes. This takes you directly to Tollcross.
