Welcome to Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, Edinburgh's Original and finest VisitScotland rated 5 star Hostel.

Centrally located, within walking distance of most of the City's tourist attractions, this stylish hostel is well equipped to suit the needs of single travellers, families and groups. Our rooms are safe, accessible only with a keycard, contemporary, and some are accessible to the disabled. Lockers are available in each room, on a first come, first served basis. Fresh, clean bed linen is included and our rooms are serviced daily. Plus, all our rooms are en-suite, but we also provide single sex toilet/shower facilities on each floor.

As with all SYHA hostels, a self-catering kitchen & dining area are provided for guests who wish to cook their own meals or those travelling on a limited budget. All the latest appliances including cookers and fridges as well as cookware, crockery and cutlery are available. Everything you will need to enjoy a home-cooked meal.

For those of you who would prefer somone else to do the cooking, Breakfast is served daily from 7.30am-10am and you have the choice of a light start Continental Buffet Breakfast, or a hearty Full Scottish. In addition, our Bistro and Restaurant offer affordable contemporary and classic dishes, served all day, every day! Our cafe/bar area has plasma TVs, internet access, wifi coverage, so where better to spend an hour or 2 enjoying a great selection of drinks, from speciality coffees to beers & wine, meeting friends, and making new ones!

Other domestic facilities in the hostel include a laundry and drying room, which has three computerised washers and dryers. You can store your luggage in our Super Safe coin lockers in the lobby from 20p per hour. And don't worry if you forget to pack your towel! You can rent one from our Reception, for only £1!

With amazing views, first class customer service and a friendly atmosphere - Edinburgh Central is an experience not to be missed. We are open 24 hrs, so no curfews or restrictions.

Exit Waverley Station onto Princes Street. Cross & turn right along Princess Street. Turn left at the St James' shopping centre and walk along Leith Street to Picardy Place roundabout. Continue along Leith Walk for approx. 400 metres, to find the hostel on the corner at Haddington Place on Leith Walk. By Bus from St Andrews Bus Station, the hostel is just a 10 minute walk. Exit the bus station onto York Place. Walk along York Place to Picardy Place roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout and walk along Leith Walk for approx 400 metres to find the hostel on the corner at Haddington Place on Leith Walk. By Air from Edinburgh Airport Take the Airlink service 100 which runs 24 hours per day and takes approx 25 minutes from the airport to Waverley Bridge. Fare from £3.50 single or £5 return. From Waverley Bridge continue onto Princes Street. Turn Right along Princes Street and then left at the St James' shopping centre and walk along Leith Street to Picardy Place roundabout. Continue along Leith Walk for approx. 400 metres, to find the hostel on the corner at Haddington Place on Leith Walk. By Car From the North & West follow signs for the city centre & travel along Queen Street, onto York Place. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Leith Walk. Edinburgh Central situated 400 metres from the roundabout on the left hand side, corner of Haddington Place on Leith Walk & Annadale Street. From the South & East follow the A1 towards the city centre approaching the city via Leith Walk. The hostel is situated at the corner of Haddington Place on Leith Walk & Annadale Street. Please note there is no parking at the hostel. There are limited on-street parking facilities close to the hostel. The nearest car park is situated at Greenside NCP, just a few minutes walk from the hostel on Leith Street		We respectfully remind our guests that pets are not permitted in the Hostel. Check in time is 3pm Check out time is 10am on the day of your departure.
